Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA) is the nation’s largest donor- and volunteer-supported mentoring network. For 120 years, BBBSA has been dedicated to fostering meaningful, professionally supported, one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the potential of youth and strengthen communities. Operating through a federated model with over 230 local agencies nationwide, BBBSA’s mission is to inspire and empower the potential of young people through transformational mentorship programs.
BBBSA now seeks to diversify and grow our contributed revenue by significantly expanding individual giving and alumni engagement via direct response channels. This will include fundraising for BBBSA as a national organization (with geographic revenue share requirements) as well as alumni engagement for local agencies that choose to participate.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of America is seeking proposals to identify a direct response partner of record to launch an omni-channel engagement and annual giving strategy for donor acquisition, retention, and revenue growth.
We are seeking a partner for a three-year renewable term, with onboarding in the fall of 2026, to support appeals received by donors beginning in early 2027. Our objective is to cultivate our existing donor base and tap into the generosity of a large but unengaged alumni network (only some of whom we have contact with) in order to build an individual donor base prioritizing long term value and net revenue generation.
The core components of this proposal are:
- Digital donor engagement including e-mail, SMS, donation pages and automated donor and alumni journeys.
- Direct mail acquisition, plus cultivation of a limited number of current and lapsed donors.
- Multi-channel engagement strategy specifically for alumni mentors and mentees.
This vendor will help BBBSA scale individual giving through data-informed strategy, creative development, campaign execution, and performance reporting and analysis. We are eager to find a partner who can support the small size of our current program and grow with us effectively to scale up significantly over the next three to five years.
