Concord Direct
Account Director-Fundraising
Why Concord Direct: You’ll feel good about the work you’re doing at Concord Direct. Our passion is to help nonprofits exceed their goals, grow their programs year-over-year, and help more people, animals, and habitats. Our team of experienced direct marketers has helped us evolve into a robust agency partner for nonprofits that want to generate fundraising results. As an employee, you’ll be proud of the work you’re doing to drive positive change in the world by empowering the work of our nonprofit clients.
About This Position: We are seeking an experienced Account Director to join our fundraising agency.
As a team leader, you’ll be responsible for building strong, long-term client relationships while representing the collective expertise and perspectives of the agency. Your confident leadership of teams focused on complex, multichannel direct response fundraising programs will help to balance strategic vision with day-to-day progress, while also identifying opportunities for program growth. You’ll align priorities, strategies, channel touchpoints, and execution details while fostering highly effective collaboration and shared ownership of outcomes. This is not an individual contributor or project management role; it is a leadership position focused on driving strategic understanding, unifying teams and individuals, and exerting positive influence. This role manages client expectations and confirms delivery within scope while recognizing opportunities to drive growth and long-term client satisfaction.
Your knowledge and experience will make you successful with the following job responsibilities:
Serve as the account team leader for complex, multichannel direct response fundraising programs, building trusted client relationships and ensuring long-term satisfaction and growth.
Provide decision leadership across client programs, aligning team members around client goals, performance metrics, scope, and budgets.
Lead effective high-quality service delivery within scope, aligning client expectations and agency perspectives while identifying opportunities to responsibly expand value and impact.
Unify cross-functional teams, fostering strong collaboration, shared accountability, and momentum from planning through execution.
Own proactive problem-solving and risk management, addressing challenges early and escalating thoughtfully when broader input or decisions are required.
Partner closely with strategists to guide short- and long-term planning, interpret performance, and translate results into clear, actionable insights.
Communicate with clarity, confidence, and influence, leading productive discussions, navigating complex conversations, and keeping work moving forward.
Are you the one we’re looking for?
We’d prefer you to have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, but we are glad to consider people who bring any relevant background and strong skillsets to the position. Additionally, you’ll have most of the following experience and skills:
6+ years of fundraising agency or nonprofit program experience in digital direct response marketing.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively cover complex topics and lead productive discussions with clients and internal teams.
Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a focus on client satisfaction and program growth that balances short-term gains with long-term success.
Very strong initiative, curiosity, and a sense of humor, plus a drive for professional growth, learning, and collaborative success.
Highly capable of managing competing projects, tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proven success growing programs preferred.
Digital Programs:
Strong fluency in digital marketing programs that include email, web, texting, and paid media channels, with a clear understanding of how the digital experience and journeys are planned, executed, measured, and optimized.
Fluency across core digital ecosystems—digital platforms, analytics tools, and marketing technology stacks—to guide integrated program direction and ensure alignment between strategy, execution, and performance insights.
The ability to facilitate directional conversations between clients and internal technical, data, and digital teams—translating goals into clear requirements and helping align strategy, execution, and measurement.
Direct Mail Programs:
The experience and judgment needed to guide direct mail strategy, positioning our team’s strategic approach, creative recommendations, data use, production considerations, and performance expectations to clients.
The ability to provide informed oversight of direct mail execution, including reviewing data instructions, package specs, artwork, pricing estimates, and production schedules to ensure alignment with approved strategy, budget, and timelines.
Strong understanding of print, data processing, and mailing workflows, with the ability to advise on personalization, segmentation, and variable data capabilities, in partnership with production and data experts.
